5D concept development
Brief conclusion of 1-4D
1D: Select the Eye Betral device in 5 in 5 as the inspiration. Create a background story and describe a future scene and hope to design behaviors and devices for a group of rebels, who fight against surveillance. Clearify domains: #Affective computing; #Persuading computing; #Human augmentation.
2D: Put forward the concept and the basic structure of city smile mapping.
3D: Find out the relationship between smile and happiness and smile could be a way to evoke happiness. Put forward another concept, the smile evocative mirror.
4D: Reset the background story that chasing for smile and happiness becomes a religion and a group of missionaries(Actually, I used "pilgrims" in 4D and I think "missionaries" should be more appropriate now.) record and explore smile in the cities and hope to bring it back. Explain two basic modes of the mapping.
Users journey map:
There are 5 stages in the users journey map: pre engagement stage, mapping stage, exploring stage, persuading stage, analyzing stage. There are 3 kinds of users: missionaries, citizens, and anthropologist in the future.
Pre engagement stage: Missionaries, whose ultimate mission is to bring smiles back to the cities, should walk in the cities with smiles. Some special apparels are designed for them to be relaxed, calm and look determined.
Mapping stage: Capture the smile data throughout the cities.
Exploring stage: Eye blocking device is also a screen. Missionaries refer to the smile mappings and go to the "Mecca" of the happiness in the cities.
Persuading stage: The display screen on the garment shows the positions of the detected passers-by using squares with "smiling"/"not smiling". It is a persuasive way to encourage them to smile.
Analyzing stage: Smile data is transformed to smile mappings, which are stored for further research.
