Guiding questions:
Can smile become a symbol or worship of happiness of life?
The cities are becoming less happy. Will smile disappear in cities along with happiness one day?
Should the landmarks of the cities are the places where people laugh most rather than the tallest skyscrapers?


Background story reset:
Maybe searching for the smile in the city to enhance the sense of happiness would become a pilgrimage.
Pilgrims map the smile for the cities and at the same time chasing for smile and happiness using the smile mapping. Anthropologists in the future can study the extinction process of the smile in cities and the formation of happiness from the smile mapping stored as data, trying to bring smile back to the cities along with happiness.
In the picture below, an anthropologist in the future is studying the smile mappings of Manhattan of 2020, 2030, 2040 in VR.

Collective mode:
In the collective mode, mappings are generated by the collective data gathered by all pilgrims. Users can check the mapping in a certain day, month, year or any other timescales.

Personal mode:
In the personal mode, mappings are generated by personal data. There would be some data insufficiency but the user can enlarge the timescale to include more data into the mapping.
